In 2023, Forum Ethibel’s priority commitment remained our role as verifier of the Towards Sustainability Label, launched in 2019 by Febelfin. The label is allocated to financial products that comply with a minimum level of sustainability.
Sustainable investment was also the theme of the successful workshop which we held at the SDG Forum - organised in October by the Belgian Federal Institute for Sustainable Development (FIDO). Our team conceived the workshop in partnership with the “Duurzaam Beleggen Academy” (sustainable investing academy). Furthermore, Forum Ethibel is assisting Belgian cities and municipalities in making their financial policies more sustainable, with the SDGs as guideline. Gent and Brugge have paved the way with us; others are following.
In addition to the products and services we have been providing for several years - such as sustainability certificates and quality labels, audits and research services as well as training opportunities - we have developed three new programmes in response to upcoming needs in the market, namely: assistance in sustainability reporting by SMEs; analysing and providing guidance with respect to sustainability standards in green and social loans; and the effective impact measurement methods in the field of impact investment activities.
