Fourth annual certificate for the responsible banking activities of Van Lanschot Bankiers
August 12, 2015

Forum ETHIBEL executed its annual audit of the compliance of Van Lanschot Bankiers with its own policies and guidelines on Corporate Responsibility. The fourth annual certificate describes to what extent the entrusted funds are managed in accordance with its own responsible banking principles. The scope of the audit includes the management of its savings, lending as well as investment policies.

Based on the audit covering the financial year 2014, an estimated 94.8% of the allocation of Van Lanschot’s balance sheet has been screened on the basis of its codes (compared to 95.4% in 2013). The ‘screenability’ has reached its optimal level, which apperas to be limited at 95%. Strictly speaking, this does not mean that each asset fully complies with all criteria, but it means that the socio-ethical risks have been identified and managed with due diligence.

In conclusion, we certify that conformity with the codes is virtually complete and we ascertain that the bank’s structural efforts have led to a Corporate Responsibility policy that is deeply embedded in the organisation. In addition, the depth and detail of the public reporting is excellent.
