Board of directors

The Board of Directors sets out the policy lines of Forum ETHIBEL and decides about inclusions and exclusions in/from the Investment Register. The Board of Directors meets 4 to 6 times a year. The following individuals are members of the Board of Directors:

  • Eddy Laurijssen (Chair)

    Eddy Laurijssen was deputy Secretary General at the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions (ICFTU) and Director of the International Labour Office in Brussels. He currently is lecturer at the International Training Center of the ILO in Turin; Board member of the United Nations Association in Belgium and member of the Administrative Boards of Forum Ethibel, Vigeo and the European Institute for Asian Studies. Since 2008, he is a member of the Register Committee, Forum ETHIBEL’s independent advisory body.

  • Dirk Van Braeckel 

    Dirk van Braeckel holds an degree in environmental science. He started off working as an educator, after which he became researcher in the field of social responsibility at Ethibel, Stock at Stake and Vigeo. Later on he worked as Head of Research at Vigeo. Since 2009, he has been chief financial and administrative officer at the International Centre for Reproductive Health of the University of Ghent.

  • Dirk Dalle

    Dirk Dalle graduated in social pedagogy at the Catholic University of Leuven, after which he followed a post academic management training. Until 1955 he was general as well as managing director from the nonprofit association Oranje. Later on he worked as deputy head of office of the Flemish Minister of Culture, Family and Well-being where he coordinated the sector “Family and Well-being”. Since 2000 he is working as general and managing director of the cooperative group called Hefboom. In addition, Dirk is director of several other organization active in the field of social economy and social profit.

  • Harry Harding

    Harry Harding holds an industrial engineering degree. For many years he worked for a supplier for the automotive industry, fa Bosch, which is a non-listed multinational with high ethical standards. From 2004 to 2009 he was  President of Forum ETHIBEL. Harry is currently retired.

  • Antoine Harmant

    Through his commitment as a union representative, Antoine Harmant became highly aware of working conditions. After a severe workplace injury, he continued his commitment by supporting companies in their self-management together with the Fondation André Oleffe corporate self-management. It is within this context that he participated in the founding of Ethibel.

  • Guy Mattan

    Guy graduated as business economist (Antwerp University) with a focus on corporate finance/business finance. During his career Guy spent most of his time in the financial sector. He was mainly active as a private banker at two leading Benelux banks. In these functions his attention never averted from entrepreneurship and sustainable investment. Today Guys professional focus lies on his work at a multy-family office, his advice to a local banking and insurance team and his involvement in various boards of directors and advisory boards.  

  • Benedict Peeters

    Benedict Peeters is CEO and Founding Partner of Rego Partners. Moreover, he is guest lecturer at the Brussels School of International Studies. He previously held management positions at KBC Bank, KBC Securities, Deutsche Bank, Morgan Stanley and Fortis Investments.

  • Herwig Peeters

    Herwig Peeters holds a master’s degree in inorganic/analytical chemistry and complementary certificates in environmental management, social accountability and sustainability reporting. He was founder as well as director of Stock at Stake, the precursor of Vigeo Belgium. Herwig has worked for Forum ETHIBEL since its start in 1992 and currently holds the position of director. In addition, he is president of ARISE, a global trade association of screening agencies in the field of sustainability and corporate social responsibility. 

  • Jan Vandenhove

    Jan Vandenhove holds a master degree in Economics from the Catholic University of Leuven, where he worked for ten years as a researcher in the fields of human resources and business ethics. He has been working for more than 15 years as a CSR analyst, first at Stock at Stake later at Vigeo. He has been coordinating the research on banks and was responsible for the methodological development in the field of human resources.
