Social Responsibility and the performance of companies
November 10, 2015

The French trade-union CFE-CGC (Confédération française de l'encadrement - Confédération générale des cadre) recently published the report ‘The social responsibility and the performance of companies’ carried out with the support of the extra-financial research provided by Vigeo rating agency.

The report focuses on the relation between companies’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and their economic and financial performance. The research is based on both financial and extra financial data of the 900 largest listed companies from OECD countries, covering the period 2004-2012.

The report elaborates on the individual dimensions of CSR, and existing synergies between them, and examines the impact of the financial crisis. Moreover company specificities are taken into account as are the differences in the regulatory framework between industries.  The full report and a summary of the findings can be found on the CFE-CGC website (in French).
