Ethibel PIONEER label

Ethibel PIONEER is a quality mark for investment funds which exclusively invest in shares or bonds included in the Investment Register and with an A or B rating. These are usually companies which are leading in all domains of their industry in terms of corporate social responsibility (CSR).

The label indicates that the fund only invests in companies which stand out within their industry in terms of corporate social responsibility (CSR). The label does not say anything about the fund’s ‘financial quality’ (expected return, risk profile, ...). This aspect is the responsibility of the fund manager.

The funds may also contain government bonds and bonds issued by international institutions. This (obviously) concerns only bonds carefully selected by Forum ETHIBEL.

Financial institutions which want to claim the label must submit an application with Forum ETHIBEL. The label will only be granted subject to strict conditions. A contract sets out all the terms and conditions. Forum ETHIBEL regularly conducts inspections to check whether the fund still meets all terms and conditions.

The label is a quality mark for financial products, not for companies. Individual companies are assigned a rating by Forum ETHIBEL following an in-depth screening and can be included in the Ethibel PIONEER Investment Register, on the condition that their rating is A or B.

The label is a deposited collective quality mark, registered for the Benelux under number 776476, and mark number 881953 for all countries of the European Union (i.e. Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, Sweden.

The Ethibel PIONEER label has existed since 1991, the year when Forum ETHIBEL (then called Ethibel) was founded. When it was launched it was simply called Ethibel label. When a second label was introduced in 2004, Ethibel EXCELLENCE, it was renamed Ethibel PIONEER.
