BNP Paribas launches new SRI Note certified by Forum ETHIBEL
September 14, 2015

BNP Paribas Fortis Funding, “BP2F” in abbreviated form, launches a new structured note called BP2F SRI Social Business Note 2023. With this innovative product BNP Paribas Fortis undertakes to reinvest the full invested amount by means of loans to or participations in social enterprises. Forum ETHIBEL has been appointed to verify and certify the conformity of these reinvestments.

Within this context social enterprises are defined as private initiatives whose social aim takes precedence over financials profits. Their activities  focus, among others, on the integration of vulnerable groups into the labour market, access to care, energy, housing, services for the elderly and disabled, recycling and reuse, short food supply chains, education and fair trade.

In line with previous emission of the SRI Note Series, the potential return on investment is linked to the performance of the Ethical Europe Equity index. This ethical and optimised index contains 30 shares of European companies selected based on their ESG performance and according to financial criteria. The composition of the index is reviewed every three months. At each revision, Forum ETHIBEL monitors the compliance with the predefined non-financial criteria.

The structured note issue is open for subscription till October 30. For more information visit www.bnpparibasfortis.be (structured notes).
